Reading Response #4

Dear Marjane Satarpi,
I really enjoyed reading your book in my english class. I liked how you made it into a comic with the pictures and details with wordings near the characters. It really put it into perspective and made me actually visualize it in my head what was going on clearly. This book really taught me that you cared about your culture and where you are from. I never really knew about the history of Iran until you explained it in the book. I would never imagined a child being so imaginative and smart at an age like yours when the book took place. I admire what you have gone through and experienced, I really think it made you more mature and stronger at such an young age. I really liked how you wanted to learn so much about everything and stood up for your believes. My life differs to your life so much. The economy and governement is such a big thing their in Iran where here where I live it might not even matter to anyone. How was life living for you when war took place and bombings were going on? Did you ever worry? Either way, I really think you inspire anyone with what you did and fought hard for your believes and actions.

Sincerely,
Brian Rodriguez
