Dearest friend in Iran,
My name is Emely Garcia, I am eighteen years old and I attend Calstate University of Los Angeles. I am currently reading the book named Persepolis which takes place in your country during the Islamic Revolution. My experience reading Persepolis has been wonderful, I have really been enjoying this magnificent story. I never knew that because of your religion they would force all of the women and the little girls to wear a veil over their heads when at times it could be so uncomfortable especially in the hot weather. My life is both similar and different to the life that the people from your country have. For example how some families have to leave miles and miles away so that they won't be killed or sent to another country far far away, my mom had the same experience when she immigrated to this country. She had to come by foot all the way from El Salvador to the United States to have a better life than she did back then. My life is similar by having the free will to do whatever I want in this country, where we aren't forced to wear a specific outfit or go to church like twice a day!!! Some questions that I would like to ask are first of all how do you put up with all your rules and regulations? Don't you ever get frustrated or tired of them? How are you and your family handling everything with the war going on right now? I reccomend that you take some time to read this book so you can enjoy it just like I did. I hope that you and your family are safe and have an awesome day!!!
Sincerely, Emely Garcia
