It has been a great experience reading Persepolis, I have enjoyed reading every chapter and being able to compare my life to yours. I have never read a book that has interested me so much. I love reading romantic books, and reading this book has been very different, because it has panels with pictures on them. My favorite character from the book has been you. I liked your attitude towards everything that has happened to you and your family. I was shocked with some of the situations that happened in your country, about how they treated people in prison. My life has been very different from yours, I have grown up to have right to do anything. I have never seen a war in my country, and I did not have to wear a veil to school. You were part of the upper class and I am consider to be part of the middle class. I agree that people should not be consider or seen like the lower or middle class.Your life has been difficult for you and it has been at risk with the war in your country. At your age, I had a very different imagination then yours. The similar things we have is, we both have parents that want the best for us. We enjoy reading books and like listening to stories from others. We both care about others and like helping them as well. It has been a pleasure reading your book, I have learned many new things. Like the history of Iran and how the lives of the people were like. The question I would like to ask is, Did you really
communicate with God? How did that happen and how did you remember everything you discussed with him? I would like to know this, just to see how it happened and why. Thank you Marjane for writing a great book.
Sincerely,
Iliana Soriano
