Dear Marjane,
I am a student at Cal State University of Los Angeles, in my English class we have been reading your book “Persepolis”. Your book is in the top 5 best books I have read in my life because I like the fact that you have illustrations to go with the text. Not only can we infer from the text, but we can infer with the pictures too. I enjoyed the fact that you use details to explain what you were going through for example, with your grandfather being a prince and being in prison. I have seen you grow up in the book from an innocent child playing Monopoly to almost a teenagers protesting for what you believe in. As I read your book you made my life look so easy compared to the tough life you lived. I never had to deal with the fact that the people I loved went away either to prison or away from the country I live in like your uncle or your friend that came to the United States. I never heard of people getting tortured for their beliefs up until I read your book, your book gave me the knowledge of those events and much more. Even though me and you are different we are also similar because we both have families that love us, we both deal with the social classes even though you would be considered a higher class because you had a maid. My question to you is that do you think your education could go father if you were to come to the United States with your family.
Sincerely,
Jonathon Becerra
