Hello, my name is Emily Orozco and I attend California State University, Los Angeles. In my English class my classmates and I are reading your novel, "Persepolis". I really enjoy reading your novel and I really like it. From reading the novel I have learned alot about the history of your country, Iran, and of your childhood. It was sad to see the struggle that you and your family has been through and experienced. I have learned that the way your childhood was different than mine was. The struggle that you have been through was nothing that I have ever experienced because my country has different aspects than yours. By reading the novel I have came to realize that I am grateful to grow up and live in a country that is not as direct as yours. I learned to appreciate the independence, privileges, advantages, and freedom that I receive in my country. I admire you as a person as you faced the challenges and obstacles in your life. You were brave and independent. I would like to know how your life is now and how has it changed after. I am really glad that I had the chance to read your journey through your life. Thank you for letting me get the chance experience such a great book.
Sincerely,
Emily Orozco
