Marjane Satrapi

Dear Marjane,

I am currently reading your book and let me tell you that i am entrieged about the things that you went through as a child. I am a female student that is inspired by your brave and courageous actions in your childhood and as you were growing up. I am greatful to say that I am lucky to have been born in the United States. I would of not been able to take what you and other children have gone through. I would not be able to live with war in all my surroundings. I would be part of the demonstration and show how unhappy and unnecessary war is. I would NOT be happy about wearing the VEIL. I see it as a way to take advantage and abuse women physically and emotionally because of the way fundementalists treat the women in Iran. I would not be able to support seeing my beloved friends and family flee to another country for a better future for themselves. It would break my heart in the way that they would be leaving and I would see them take off in the plane. I would be heart broken. As a student living here in the US, I am not experiencing war and I don't know what to say but just feel sad for those who are actually experiencing it. They are being tortured by hearing the guns and the screaming of the people who are suffering either because they are wounded or they are scared. They will always be scarred. Your book has impacted me in the way i think about life. I see the way your country has come about and it scares me to death. i wonder if you were really talking to GOD and he was responding back to you???
Sincerely Priscilla Rios
